NAVIGATION LIGHTS

All boats are required to display navigation lights from sunset to sunrise and during periods of restricted visibility. When at anchor at night, boats must display an unobstructed all-round white light visible in all directions (360 degrees). See Chapter 4 for details.

Chapter 4 contains details on the proper lights for various boat types.

New York Navigation Light Laws

Navigation lights must be turned on from sunset to sunrise and during periods of restricted visibility.
Note: Since a PWC does not carry navigation lights, they may not be operated from sunset to sunrise and during the day under conditions of restricted visibility.
